Flames Coach Chimodzi retains Sulumba and Mzava for Bafana Bafana game

Flames head coach Young Chimodzi has
made one change to the squad that lost to
Mozambique on Monday, bringing in Tizgowere Kumwenda for Robin Ngalande
for tonight’s Cosafa plate semifinal against
South Africa.

Chimodzi said he was impressed with how
Kumwenda performed when he came in for
Ngalande against Mozambique.
On his team’s preparations ahead of the
match, Chimodzi said his boys have
recovered from the Mozambique loss in
which they gave away a 2-1 lead in the last
minute to draw 2-2 before losing 5-4 in the
penalty shootouts.

“We have told the boys to forget about
Mozambique and concentrate for the
Bafana Bafana match. The mood is now
good and the boys look forward to make
amends,” he said.

The Malawi national football team
manager has also kept his confidence
in Limbikani Mzava and Lucky Malata, the
two players whose respective own goals
sentenced the Flames to the grave and
handed Mozambique the keys to the Cosafa
semi-finals on a silver platter.

Flames’s Starting 11: McDonald Harawa,
Lucky Malata, Limbikani Mzava, John
Lanjesi; Yamikani Fodya; John
Banda; Chimango Kayira; Micium
