TANZANIA, OUR PRESIDENT IS NOT A PUPPET AND WE SAY NO TO RESOURCE SHARING By Concerned Malawians

Tanzanians, your article about donating
maize to Malawi was published everywhere
but ours has always been published in our
hearts. Its called LAKE MALAWI. Malawians
might have been divided over other issues
but the lake is one of those which will
always unite us.
So be informed that no deal will convince us
apart from one deal which is to leave our
lake alone for us and never come again to
bother us over the matter.
To others, our president has been called a
puppet, but we will not let follow the same
lane. Remember, our President said the lake
issue is non-negotiable, and with due
respect we expect you, Tanzanians to back
off.
Malawi is facing the floods disaster and has
received support from various well-wishers;
Tanzania inclusive, however that does not
warrant a measure for the Tanzanians to
take Malawians for granted.
Malawi cannot buy the idea of natural
resources sharing.
Tanzania helped Malawi with Maize to aid
flood victims and it should be mentioned
that as a nation we never planned for the
flood disaster it remains an accident and we
refuse to be taken for a ride by Tanzania for
the help we didn’t ask for. If they so wish
they can come and get back their maize.
If resource sharing is to be the way, then
United State of Africa should be the way. But
for now we strongly say that Malawi
belongs to the people and the only deal
which will convince people is to ensure that
all resources that belong to Malawi are not
shared.
