Game not over: Tetris turns 30

One of the world’s most popular and
enduring video games, Tetris,
celebrates its 30th anniversary this
week.
Developed in Russia, the game’s simple
– if addictive – premise requires players
to move falling, irregular shaped blocks
together to form complete rows.
It is a world away from the advanced
graphics and complex narratives of
many contemporary games but it is still
available, and still hugely popular on
mobile phones and other devices.
